I feel sorry and ashamed that my own countrymen become increasingly synonymous with ultranationalists. But believe me, there are also many liberals and moderates out there in China, me included, who do not vigorously attack Taiwanese that embrace independence, even though they feel sad about it. I hope you won't despise our whole nation for the despicable people you unfortunately met. After all, all those moderates and liberals just don't openly express their political views. That's why their ideas and opinions can't be heard, and why ultranationalists' voices sound overwhelmingly strong.
